My aunty has been comatose and flirting with the border between life and death for the past 3 weeks. Just today, she woke up.
In that time I’ve missed her smile and just how much she makes me laugh -memories of her made more distant by the confronting sight of her in a white room, hooked up to a million and three tubes which were connected up to a million and three machines.

What I’m about to write might not make sense or resonate with anyone, but that’s okay. There has been this one person in my life who has lied to me on several occasions over the last 2 years. This whole time… I thought that in choosing to stay and not leave, I had essentially “forgiven” him for his actions. In actuality… I never did forgive each incident...

In some cases, the ability for a friendship to not waver despite not checking in with a person for an extended period of time can serve as a testament to it’s strength.
But sometimes we hesitate seeing how a person is doing to avoid prying or being annoying but on the flip side, sometimes… people are just dying to be heard and would love to be asked. It’s always nice being...
